The Decade of Action Tag, the universal symbol of the United Nations Decade of Action is gaining momentum as the momentus launch of tens years of concerted effort for road safety begins next month. YOURS is proud to be owners of the tag along with the road safety community and follows its increased publicity.
The United Nations Decade of Action is drawing near and on the 11th May 2011, ten years of arduous action for global road safety will begin. In the midst of this historic occasion, the Decade of Action Tag; the universal symbol for the movement is gaining international recognition and momentum.
The tag has been work by dignitaries world wide and is proudly exhibited by supporters of global road safety everywhere. YOURS is proud to have aquired a quantity of the tags and during its launch activity next month to take place in Canada, 400 young people will be given the tag to wear with pride; more information about the event will be available soon.
On the international front the tag has been worn recently by the Ghana Black Stars, Ghana’s national football team in a match with England. The event was well documented by Make Roads Safe and some of the pictures are featured here.
Promoting the Tag
YOURS commends the publicity of this tag and as it is used in the public eye more over the following months, YOURS recommends its youth network to attempt to obtain commitment from local authorities, national celebritites and figure heads and obtaining similar photo opportunities to promote the Decade of Action for Road Safety. YOURS will be coordinating some of these photo opportunities in the months ahead.
