YOURS is proud to feature ‘Concrete Dreams’, a touching drama underpinned by a road safety message and shot by MMC – Making Messages Count with the support of London Borough of Hackney Council. Watch the video at YOURS now…
Concrete Dreams is the poignant story of Shanice and Charley, a couple of ordinary high school teenagers immersed in life and the people around them, set in Hackney, London. The story depicts the lifes of young people and their flippancy towards the road; taglined, ‘no one is invicible or unstoppable.’
The drama is shot in monochrome giving it a gritty, realistic appeal. Its clear as the story unfolds that youthful plans, dreams and aspirations can disappear if young people do not pay attention to the road; a message that counts.
The inspiring tale of the story permeates on and off the screen, the film was shot, directed, edited and produced by a group of young people aged 15-19 year olds illustrating the creative value young people can bring to road safety. It was shot in partnership with the London Borough of Hackney Road Safety Road Safety Team. YOURS is proud to promote this video here and commends the enthusiasm and commitment shown by these young people. YOURS hopes to see more projects like this one that Make Messages Count (MMC), especially the vital message of road safety with young people.
